Freelancer needed for supplier sourcing in Malaysia (Johor Bahru) – industrial machine components

Project Desciption

Looking for someone to help source and vet suppliers in Malaysia for a client project.
We need a proper deep-dive on suppliers, not just a list of names. Categories we’re covering:

• Sheet metal, welding, powder coating
• Turned and milled components
• Cables, cabinets, connectors, harnesses
• Motors, sensors, switches, bearings
• Injection moulding / technical plastics

Suppliers should ideally be around the Johor Bahru area. If you’re based there or already have a solid network of factory contacts in the region, that’s a big plus, we’d much rather work with someone who can actually visit and talk to these places in person than someone doing this purely online.

What we’re looking for:

• Real experience or connections in manufacturing sourcing in Malaysia
• Comfortable working in Malay and English
• Willing to physically check out factories (sometimes, and we give incentive for this)
• Organized and detail-oriented, this involves comparing a lot of suppliers side by side

This starts as a project, but if it goes well there’s real potential to turn it into an ongoing role, possibly as a regional partner longer term.
