Job Overview
We are seeking a Freelance M&E Design Engineer to support building services design projects. The role involves preparing M&E drawings, designing electrical and fire protection systems, coordinating with project stakeholders, and supporting authority submission requirements in compliance with Malaysian regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop M&E layout drawings and floor plans using AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Design and coordinate fire protection systems, including fire alarm, sprinkler, hose reel, and fire escape layouts.
  • Plan and design electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and related building services.
  • Develop layouts for racking, ventilation, lightning protection, earthing, security systems, telecommunications and building automation systems.
  • Ensure design comply with BOMBA, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), local authority requirements and relevant building codes.
  • Prepare technical support and clarification during project execution and construction stages.
  • Review and optimize designs to improve safety, functionality and cost efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in M&E building services design, preferably in warehousing projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
  • Familiar with Malaysian authority requirements, including BOMBA, ST, UBBL, and local council submission processes.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and fire protection system design.
  • Able to work independently and manage project timelines effectively.
  • Willing to travel and conduct site visits within Malaysia as required by project needs.
